Cast Iron Care

Caring for your cast iron is not complicated.  Here are a few easy steps to help your cast iron last a very long time!

                                                                                    Cast Iron Mini Square Skillet

Our mini skillet is perfect for making dips for the gathering, cooking smaller meal portions, or even making individual sized grilled cheese sandwiches!

Cast Iron Wok

This wok is perfect for stir frying and because it is excellent with retaining eat, frying up food is also a breeze.

Here are some tips on caring for your new cast iron cookware:

1. Remember, our skillets and woks have been pre-seasoned and ready to use!  But cast iron cookware becomes more non-stick the more you use them so use a bit more oil to prevent sticking in the beginning.

2. Do not clean your cast iron cookware in the dishwasher.   Clean your skillet and wok with hot water and dry thoroughly.  You do not want rust on your cast iron!  After drying, apply a thin coat of cooking oil.  If you have extra stubborn food stuck on your cookware, our favorite method is to use coarse salt to scrub off those challenging spots.  Rinse, dry, and oil as above.

3.  Although your cast iron is extremely versatile, we suggest avoid cooking with acidic food, such as tomatoes and citrus based recipes.
